What is SAGIP BUHAY?
Sagip Buhay. Literally, "to save lives."
At the Philippine General Hospital, the country's health care professionals struggle each day to save as many lives as they can. It is a noble undertaking, but dealing with the limitations of health care in the Third World can be difficult. To treat the nation's sick, one must be prepared to deal with problems such as poverty as well as the complications of disease. Everyday, we see patients dying simply because they cannot afford to buy medications. Even curable diseases like pneumonia can prove fatal when patients simply do not have enough money for the antibiotics. The Sagip Buhay Medical Foundation saves lives by providing medications to our less fortunate brothers and sisters admitted at the Medicine Wards and ICUs of the Philippine General Hospital. Sagip Buhay offers hope to those struggling with disease; it helps alleviate the burdens of both the patients and their families. All this we CAN continue to do with YOUR help.
